Vintage patterns and Career “Advice” from Women’s Weekly

Sunday mornings, I think, are for indulging in the hobbies which you love. My preferred indulgence is drinking coffee and browsing knitting patterns, often I spend time on Raverly but I love the look and feel of the real-deal paper printed versions. So I thought I will share with you a few vintage patterns from my collection. I have some as far back as the 1920s. It may surprising that many patterns are fine; a change of colour, a tweak of the neckline and viola – a modern-day knit.

Given my backlog of works-in-progress (WIPs) I have told myself I’m not allowed to start anything else for the time being, and that includes mittens with duck motifs!

Do you collect knitting patterns too? Do you collect vintage or retro items?

Note also a leaflet from 1971 written by Women’s Weekly “Social Know-how for the career girl and career wife”. Err um thank you Women’s Weekly, I’ll take your advice on board (maybe).
